Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy focuses on the treatment of many types of communication and swallowing problems. Communication abilities are assessed by evaluating how we make sounds, how our brain processes words and actions, communication via writing and reading, social communication, and of course our voice! Speech therapy also prescribes exercises to muscles in the mouth and throat for safe swallowing.
RVNAhealth offers speech therapy in patients’ homes and at the RVNAhealth Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Ridgefield, CT.
What Does a Speech Therapist Do?
RVNAhealth speech therapists, also known as speech language pathologists (SLPs), offer cognitive training, swallowing evaluations and treatment, and speech language retraining to help individuals recovering from experiences such as stroke, swallowing difficulties, Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis and more. RVNAhealth speech therapists provide customized treatment plans based on individual needs and employ targeted speech therapy applications and technologies to develop well-rounded plans of care that patients can continue independently.
