Wednesday, September 9, 2020: Opening day dawned bright and welcoming, with easy sunshine and pleasant climes, a gentle start to a flu season introducing new processes and protocols in response to a pandemic-intense year. And even with all the new procedures — vaccines by appointment; a parking lot ‘waiting room’; masks, temperature checks and screening questions; repeated cleansing routines — it was a smooth start with plenty of smiles and good fellowship all around.
Led by the RVNAhealth flu team (l to r, above), April Rodriguez, RN, Community Health Nurse Manager; Katelyn Scribner, Marketing & Programs Coordinator; Stephanie Collins, 2020 Flu Administrative Assistant, plus a corps of experienced flu nurses, we administered over 50 vaccines to individuals, couples, and full-fledged families. Our brave first-day line-up left immunized, hand sanitized, and for the youthful among us, with a gift card in hand for a Deborah Ann’s ice cream.
The flu shot is especially important this year to reduce your risk of a ‘twindemic’ and strengthen your immunity at a particularly vulnerable time. Learn more and make an appointment today.
