In a year unlike any other, and marked by unprecedented demands on healthcare organizations, RVNAhealth is especially proud to be recognized as a 2020 Top Workplace — for the eighth time.
RVNAhealth has earned a 2020 Top Workplaces award from Hearst Connecticut Media. Cheers! The award is given to local companies that lead the way in workplace culture based on employee surveys.
“To receive this award today, in 2020, during an extraordinary year in which RVNAhealth has lived and breathed our mission every day, is especially rewarding,” says Theresa Santoro, MSN, RN, CHCA, President and CEO of RVNAhealth. “It reflects remarkably on our team’s depth of strength, commitment and purpose, and of their pride in the work that we do and the support they receive.”
Since the pandemic was declared in mid-March, RVNAhealth has served over 175 COVID-positive patients in addition to offering our usual services. We never closed our doors or turned a patient away. Team members across the board took on new responsibilities, assumed extra hours and personalized the welfare and well-being of every patient and family we cared for — often serving as the single connection between a patient and their loved ones. “It has been a year of great intensity,” says Santoro, “and it simply made our team stronger. We cared for our patients and we cared for each other.”
The Top Workplaces designation was awarded to 49 Connecticut companies this year. To be considered, a company must be located in Fairfield, Litchfield, or New Haven County, have at least 35 employees, and be nominated for the award by a current employee. Company employees then complete a survey on their organization after which results are tabulated and prizes awarded. At RVNAhealth, our employees surveyed included clinical staff — nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and certified nursing assistants — as well as non-medical caregivers and the administrative team. RVNAhealth places in the mid-sized company category which includes companies with between 100 and 999 employees.
“Earning the Top Workplaces title is a tribute to the entire RVNAhealth team, as every single staff member influences the culture, success and personality of RVNAhealth. Earning this recognition gives us a moment to appreciate all that is going well and motivates us to act on additional opportunities for refinement and attention,” says Kelly Klein, RVNAhealth Director of Human Resources. “Later this fall, Bethel Visiting Nurse Association and New Milford Visiting Nurse & Hospice are joining the RVNAhealth family and we look forward to integrating their special qualities and cultures to be even stronger.”
RVNAhealth was also named a Hearst Connecticut Media Top Workplace in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
