Volunteer Requirements

    Thank you for your interest in becoming an RVNAhealth volunteer. When you volunteer with us, you are part of a team that’s dedicated to the health and well-being of patients. Below are requirements to ensure the safety and health of patients and their families.

    All Volunteers

    • Sign the Background Check Release
    • Sign the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement
    • Sign the Conflict of Interest Policy

    Volunteers Who Visit in Patient Residences

    • Complete a TB test (administered by RVNAhealth nurse, free of charge)
    • Register fingerprints with Connecticut State Police
    • Provide a copy of your driver’s license or photo ID and social security card

    All Hospice Volunteers

    • Complete a physical and drug screening with Physician One (free of charge)
    • Complete 16 hours of federally-mandated volunteer training (to help volunteers get comfortable and confident with assignments)
    • Individuals who have recently lost a loved one should wait one year before volunteering for Hospice (to allow yourself the time you need for yourself, to strengthen and heal)
    • Due to current health protocols, some locations require COVID-19 test

    Individuals may volunteer in our Ridgefield, CT office or in the 35+ towns where we provide care.
