Director of Business Development
As RVNAhealth's director of business development, Katy Johannssen's main focus is to grow business for each of our service lines and promote these services in the 28 towns we serve.
In this role, Katy is passionate about helping patients, families and providers understand RVNAhealth’s diverse service lines and facilitate seamless service. Her team of dedicated home health navigators help patients transition from hospitals and care facilities back to their homes with a customized care plan. “They work to ensure as seamless a transition as possible for our patients and their families. We’re a great team and take pride in the rewarding work we accomplish daily!”
Prior to working at RVNAhealth, Johannssen worked for 10 years in account management for Kellogg and Pepsi. Her path toward the healthcare industry and commitment to helping others is one of deep sentiment. “The sudden death of my father, on my wedding day, made me realize that life was too short. I reassessed my career goals and focused on helping others instead of climbing the corporate ladder. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and RVNAhealth allows me to do just that every day.”
Today, Katy enjoys her interactions with patients and being on the front lines of the ever-changing medical environment. “The more I can explain the benefits of RVNAhealth services to a client returning home from the hospital or rehab center, the more they and their families can feel at ease about the transition. When we smoothly bridge the gap between hospital and home, our patients know they’re in great hands.”
Katy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware and is a certified dementia practitioner. Along with her husband and two children, she lives near Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, CT. A perfect place to enjoy her love of outdoor sunny activities — boating, beaching, hiking, and skiing.
