Joint Replacement Recovery
RVNAhealth offers orthopedic programs for patients of joint replacements and other significant surgeries. Our goal is to help you return to all of your day-to-day activities as soon as possible after surgery through exceptional rehabilitative care.
Our integrated team of physical and occupational therapists, skilled nurses (if needed) and CNAs collaborates with your doctor(s) to confirm progress, advise concerns and ensure coordinated care.
RVNAhealth orthopedic programs adhere to the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the National Institutes of Health. All provide a comprehensive treatment approach that considers each patient’s individual needs.
Our programs begin with a home safety evaluation prior to surgery to ensure that your home is safe and ready for your return. Following surgery, treatment begins within a day of your return home. An RVNAhealth physical therapist will develop a customized program and begin post-operative therapy. Continuous therapy is important at this stage of your recovery, and your program will include frequent visits and home exercises.
Therapy will continue until you are no longer homebound, at which time you can continue your treatment at an outpatient location. If convenient for you, you can graduate to the RVNAhealth Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Ridgefield, CT where our team can continue to work with you on your full recovery.
