Event includes a sit down in-gallery tour and discussion of 2 artists, Layo Bright (Dawn and Dusk), and Elizabeth Englander, (Eminem Buddhism, Volume 3). After a short break, we will head into the studio for a collage activity inspired by Layo Bright. Materials provided are appropriate for visitors that may have fine motor skill challenges (pre-cut florals, glue sticks, and adaptive scissors). Aldrich staff will be on-hand to help guide and provide assistance. The activity is designed for the participants to work together as a duo, with the following goals:
- To provide a multisensory experience (music and art)
- To use art and music as a bridge for communication
- To build community and foster creativity
- To allow for the discovery of the relationship between art, music & memory
- To increase intimacy between caregivers and their loved ones
