How do I know if I can sign up?
If you’re a first-time pregnant person, are less than 28 weeks (~6 months) pregnant and Husky or WIC eligible, or are under 18 or are having a hard time making ends meet (no bank statements required!), you may get your very own nurse…at no cost to you. How do you decide who gets help? 
If you’re less than 28 weeks pregnant, or are under 18 or are having a hard time making ends meet and are interested in free help, chances are you can get free nurse visits! Just fill out the form to find out. 

Where do I meet my nurse?
We can meet at your home or any other neutral place where you feel comfortable. Telehealth (computer or phone) is available for days that you’re not feeling 100%.

Is it like a regular doctor appointment? 
No. We don’t replace your regular doctor. But we provide all kinds of extra support for you and your child while you are pregnant and up until your child’s second birthday.

Will my doctor make me sign up?
This program is entirely voluntary. We assist families who want more help for themselves and their baby. No one can make you sign up; the decision is 100% yours!

Are you a DCF program checking in on me and my family?
No; Nurse-Family Partnership is not related to the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Our goal is to partner with you to help you build skills, support you and your child, and enable you and your child to thrive. Nurse-Family Partnership is about building strong families from the start.  The effects have been shown to be long-lasting.

Can my partner / child’s father / other family member be involved in the program?
Expectant fathers, family members, even close friends are welcome to participate in visits with your personal nurse if you want them there. Who doesn’t need another set of hands to calm a fussy baby or change a diaper? It’s great to have support, and with help from Nurse-Family Partnership, you can be confident that everybody is taking good care of your baby.

Nothing is ever free — what’s the catch?
Nurse-Family Partnership in Connecticut is funded by the Office of Early Childhood to support families, so you pay nothing!
