We care about keeping our community healthy. Community health starts with individual health. Our Community Health & Wellness services support your health throughout all ages and stages of life. Our Community Health services are offered out of our RVNAhealth headquarters in Ridgefield, CT; at our RVNAhealth office in New Milford, CT; and throughout communities in Western CT.
Traveling to locales brings extraordinary adventure. But it can also expose you to serious diseases that may threaten your health. Zika virus, typhoid fever, malaria, and yellow fever to name a few. Our Nurse Travel Health Specialists provide safety information, immunizations, and prescriptions to keep you healthy before, during, and after your journey. Consultations are tailored to your specific itinerary and take into account your individual health needs based on age, medical history and vaccine history.
To schedule a Travel Consult, complete the Travel Consult Form. Once submitted, we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
While consultations are recommended, we're also happy to assist with vaccine-only visits. Simply complete our Vaccine Consent Form or email commnityhealth@rvnahealth.org
Travel consultations are available at the RVNAhealth Center for Exceptional Care, 27 Governor Street, Ridgefield, CT or virtually. We also have appointments available one Saturday each month.
Check out this resource for more details on travel vaccines and consultations.
Every year, RVNAhealth offers flu shots in-office and at drive-through clinics at our RVNAhealth headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. Our experienced nurses are highly skilled and compassionate. We can administer vaccines to any individual over the age of 6 months.
We offer two types of Flu Vaccines:
- Standard Dose Trivalent for ages 6 months and older.
- High Dose Trivalent (Fluad) for ages 65 and older.
All vaccines are preservative-free.
RVNAhealth is part of the Vaccines for Children program, which provides FREE routine vaccines to any child 18 years of age and under, regardless of insurance status.
Please check back in the late summer for scheduling options.
When a new baby is on the way, adults caring for the baby should get the Tdap (whooping cough) vaccine to protect your baby once born. This practice, known as “cocooning,” surrounds your baby with vaccinated individuals to reduce the chance of your little one contracting this serious illness. RVNAhealth participates in the CT Department of Health Tdap Cocoon Program, which provides Tdap Vaccines at a reduced cost to those in close contact with infants.
