Christine Palmer, RN, BSN, CHPN
Private Duty Nurse
We are pleased to introduce Christine Palmer, RN, BSN, CHPN, who is leading the introduction of Private Duty Nursing for RVNAhealth StayWELL Services.
Christine comes to the team with over 10 years of broad-based nursing experience. She joined RVNAhealth in 2019, working for the ComfortWELL team, most recently as a Hospice Nurse Case Manager and previously as an on-call and overnight hospice nurse. Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Western Connecticut State University and is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN). She is currently working on her master’s degree to become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
Naturally drawn toward people, and with a desire to touch and improve the lives of others, Christine began nursing as a second career following 20 years in financial services, business development and marketing. “I cherish the human connection. Being able to provide physical and emotional care and guidance to help patients and families is what I love. Patients put their faith and trust in me. I am privileged to have that, and I take it very seriously,” says Palmer.
The introduction of Private Duty Nursing brings much excitement to the RVNAhealth team. “People do not necessarily realize how many medical needs and treatments are not covered by insurance,” says Palmer. “This offering enables us to serve patients needing help with services such as medication management, pre-pours and administration, routine injections not covered by insurance, elective surgery recovery, and ventilator, trach, or feeding tube care, to name just a few.”
Christine is excited to help lead and launch this new service for RVNAhealth. “This role calls upon my entire 10 years of diverse nursing experience. I look forward to utilizing that experience to offer excellent care, compassion, and support to patients and their families.”
A resident of Danbury, CT, Christine has three children, and two grandchildren. She is an avid traveler and has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Ireland.
