Thank you for attending and supporting our 24th Annual Spring Breakfast!

On Friday, April 25th, RVNAhealth hosted its 24th Annual Spring Breakfast at The Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury. The room was filled with energy and enthusiasm, with nearly 350 attendees on hand to support RVNAhealth’s mission to deliver unmatched, compassionate healthcare when and where it is needed. As it does each year, the Spring Breakfast event raised critical funds to support nursing, rehabilitation and hospice care in the home, as well as our mission-driven community programs like Well-Child Clinics for uninsured children, Chronic Care for vulnerable elderly or disabled individuals, and the Nurse Family Partnership.

The event brought together business leaders, medical professionals, community partners, and longtime supporters for a meaningful celebration of the vital work we do every day to support 35+ communities throughout western Connecticut. Guests enjoyed an uplifting program, exciting live auction and raffle prizes.

A highlight of the event was impact speaker, Andy Greenfield, a Danbury native and entrepreneur who shared his deeply personal story about the care his parents received from RVNAhealth. His remarks served as a powerful reminder of the value and compassion we bring to families across our communities as well as the continuum of services we provide. Please enjoy this excerpt from his speech and know that we are here for you and your family, too, whenever you might need us.

“My siblings and I are all educated professionals who were comfortably in control of our lives and our futures. We were all used to being able to come up with solutions for the issues that confronted us.  But this was clearly different. To say that we felt powerless in the face of what our parents were going through was an understatement. And it was at this point, we realized that this situation was clearly well beyond our ability to manage or control. And it was also emotionally charged in every way possible, since these were our parents, who we loved and wanted to care for. The stress and pain my siblings and I were experiencing because we could not adequately help our mom and dad was just increasing, and we all knew it was not going to go away or diminish unless we made some major changes. This is when we fortunately discovered RVNAhealth. To be blunt, I’m not sure how our family would have gotten through the past 2 1/2 years without RVNAhealth.

RVNAhealth was there for us through snowstorms, changes in my parents’ physical condition which required increasing levels of physical support, and then 24/7 support. They navigated squabbles between family members about what caregivers we should have and provided us with a seamless continuum of care as my parents grew weaker, needed more, and ultimately passed away. And those transitions from one level of support to the next are often very difficult to navigate.

The impact of the work that RVNAhealth had on our entire family is immeasurable. The importance of the work they do cannot be overestimated. But I would also suggest that the work they do is under-appreciated, until you need their help. And if you are fortunate to have your parents or your spouse live long enough, the chances are strong, you will need to reach out for help.”
