Comfort Classics, Recrafted: A Cooking Class

RVNAhealth Teaching Kitchen

Tuesday, January 13, 2026

5:00 – 7:00pm

Class is SOLD OUT! Be on the lookout for February’s class.

By this point of winter, we’re all trying to stay warm and safe, which often means hunkering down at home and turning to comfort foods. Many of those old favorites are decadent and delicious, solidly savory or sweet, but too often they are also laden with less-than-healthy ingredients. In this class, we’ll modify three classic dishes to keep the comfort while ditching the guilt. As we cook, we’ll discuss various modifications and the benefits of swaps that can be made to increase the good and decrease the bad. We’ll round things out with a flavorful winter salad to pair with our refreshed creations.

Bring your appetite as we will be eating what we make! Recipes provided. Some demo, some hands on.

Join us as we reimagine three classic comfort foods so they still taste like love on a plate but are better for you!

On the menu:

–  Lil’ Lighter Chicken Pot Pie
– “Trust Me” Turkey Meatloaf
– Make-It-Better Mac & Cheese
– Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad
